Mark. A great big thank you from everyone for the great trip toThailand/Burma and Laos. We all had the time of our lives. As you know our group have been on organised motorcycle trips in various places around the world and this really was one of the best. Organisation and route planning was excellent, the hotels great as were the bikes, and the food was out of this world,we couldn’t really fault it. Looking forward to Cambodia and Vietnam in 2012!?
Regards. Jeff
PS.Any chance of a couple more T Shirts??

Mark, I would echo Jeffery’s comments. Your laid back demeanour was at first slightly worrisome as I feared that perhaps you were also laid back in your organisation, but in fact the reality proved otherwise. It was a well-thought through trip, where you had clearly planned both for the potential contingencies of our not being up to the route (with all those extra people during the first couple of days), and yet were not rigid either, remaining equally flexible to alter arrangements to suit circumstances and the group mood.
All the best. Peter

Hi Mark (and Luke & Honey).
My apologies for taking so long to send you this email.
I have been very busy at work now I am back in Australia and time gets away so quickly these days (especially on the run up to X’mas!) – a far cry from the relaxing time we had over in Thailand with you!
Just a quick note to say thank you very much for arranging such a great tour for the seven of us, (yes – we now even include that lovable pommy git called Russ in our close group of mates) who went on the trip of a lifetime with you over in Northern Thailand last month.
‘Sensational’ would be a huge understatement to describe how good your Transmotosport Motard tour was!
I would like to congratulate you and your team on the huge effort you put in before, during and after the tour – not to mention where each day where you accommodated everyone’s individual needs down to the very last detail. It is a credit to you that you could assess, analyse and then, so easily ‘adjust’ our days planned route to allow for the weather, road conditions, riding skills, as well as incorporate the preferences of everyone within the group, as the tour progressed all over the remote areas of Northern Thailand which we visited on our 7 day adventure ride with you.

The food, accommodation, hire equipment and guiding that you provided (including those fabulous DRZ400’s) was first class and I would strongly recommend any of your tours to any potential new customers that are considering a motorcycle riding tour in Thailand. (I doubt I would need to suggest your tours to any friends or relatives of anyone that have already been on a tour (as we have not stopped talking to everyone we know about the great time we all had) – your list of customers that return again and again each year must be huge!)
Your ability to ‘read’ the local road surfaces and conditions, traffic and any potential trouble spots (even oncoming traffic) and guide us all over this great country, was invaluable to us, as first time visitors to Thailand touring on motorcycles.
The amount of detailed information you also provided to us (even before leaving Australia) and prior to starting our tour with you, assisted us greatly with a list of what items to take from home and what to expect when we arrived overseas.
The roads you selected where a stunning selection of dream curves and bends linked together to form sensational day rides amongst the beautiful mountains, rainforests and clouds, these would then would drop down to the rivers and plains bordering the edges of this gorgeous country. If we wanted to stop at anytime and look at the stunning views, take a photo of the amazing temples, watch a mate apexing a perfect corner or just get a coffee, it was never a problem with you.
Thank you again for the professional way you looked after us and I can definitely say we will return soon to sample another of your fabulous tours – we may even try one of your legendary ‘off road’ dirt treks next time!
I have attached a few ‘low res’ photos of some of the trip – let me know if you want any resent at ‘hi res’ files. (Can someone please forward this email on to Russ as I could not see his email address in the previous email)
It was a pleasure to meet and ride with you (and your dedicated team) and I look forward to returning again next year (in June / October) for more of the same!
Catch up with you soon.
best regards
markclover

Mark,
I’ve been on similar rides in the US, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam and the ride you guys organized was one of the best I’ve ever been on in the 20 years of my riding. Your flexibility to tailor different routes based on riding experience made the ride a great experience for everyone regardless of their riding skill. We had a few surprises but you were able to handle them without any impacts to the group. Justin, Luke and you were fantastic guides and Lek’s mechanic wonders kept everyone moving well. In fact, the performance and reliability of your bikes was the best I’ve experienced in Asia — what issue we had were minor and they were dealt with quickly and professionally. Everyone’s patience and understanding was top form and from dirt roads to the single tracks, it was a great mix of technical riding, dirt roads, and twisty tarmac. In addition to the ride, the food and accommodations were top notch and everyone was talking about it all for weeks as one the best experiences they’ve ever had.
Some suggestions (and these are minor): Maybe have some bikes set up for the shorter riders, try and not start the ride off in downtown Chiang Mai (the traffic freaked a few out), remind everyone to bring hydration systems, offer an option for new tires on the bikes if people want them, and ask what the group contract defines as ‘low experience”? I really wasn’t trying to sneak anyone in on you.

Many thanks again to Justin, Luke, Lek and yourself for the great time. I hope we can all get back there sometime and also get some of our riding buddies from the US to come over since it is so worth it.
Later,
Allen

Hands down, the best trip I have ever taken!  There is no better way to see the sights than on a bike.  Being able to stop and see views from a mountain that a car cannot get to was fantastic.  Your team took the time to ensure everyone was safe and not left behind.  They also offered suggestions for riding and how to make things easier and use the bike to our advantage.  Having a mechanic on the ride is without a doubt a must have!   Lek worked for his paycheck, but was still eager to help out if needed all day long.  Justin and Luke spent most of their time with the more experienced crew so I did not cover much ground with them, but still enjoyed the stories of the days ride they had. Of course there is you as well, can’t forget you.  You were everywhere watching out for everyone, anyone could tell you were there to make sure we all had a great ride while making sure everyone was safe.  The accommodations were great with good pricing, great food and wonderful service!   The Nest was a fantastic location in the middle of a village and locally owned with simple, yet very nice huts to stay in. The food that was offered is amazing and seemed it was from a 5 star restaurant without the steep pricing.  I cannot begin to say how relaxing it was to stay there after a great day riding.  All in all, I would do this every weekend if I could!  Until the next ride…

Mark, I want to start by saying thanks for the great riding and tell you how much of a great time we all had. As you assessed rather quickly our group was quite diverse in riding skills and having the ability to change up routes made the trip fun for all of us! After not riding a dirt bike for about 8 months or so I found myself almost back to proper riding form. Riding on the opposite side of the road was fun, but suprisingly easy after the 1st few turns. I say that because after the first rest stop, I jumped out on the road in the wrong direction..I’m a fast learner!
Every day was fantastic, we had some struggles..some more than others, but all together it was great team work to make it across the rivers and bridges, (some of us anyway, ha!) I will keep their identity concealed…but see pic attached. Of course, the last day is usually the best on any trip, and that still holds true. The single track that Luke took us on was great, it was a bit hot, but way worth it! Weaving through the tight vines/trees/ravines was a blast. I’m impressed at how much diverse riding you have available. Staying at “The Nest” was truly amazing. It was very relaxing, with great hospitality and the food was outstanding! It was also great to have a experienced mechanic/rider with us. Lek was great to ride with, and even though he did loose his master link, as a good mechanic should he was carrying a spare. Actually, it was as if I was riding with my buddies back home, it was a great time.
I have been riding bikes all my life, and in numerous organized on road/offroad rides in AZ, NV and California, but this was one of the best riding experiences that I won’t forget. I hope to be back very soon, and we can hit some more great trails and twisty tarmac. It was great to have a personalized tour, with great flexibility for the size and skill of our group. Thanks to Justin, Luke, Lek and yourself for the great time on, and off the trail!
The weather was a little warm, and I highly recommend to everyone make sure you hydrate before, during and after your ride! Take the largest Camelback you can find if you go in late April.
Thanks again,
Ron
